Dear Contributors and Community members

I have been a journalist on the North Coast for several years and
found this area is like no other when it comes to community ethos.

Stepping into the editor's role at The Richmond River Sun gives me the
chance to focus on community discussion and news relevant to the
readers.

With the mainstream news full of sensationalist doom and
gloom, now is a great time to look at the positive things happening in
this area.

The Richmond River region is full of inspiring people with
interesting plights and passions. We're lucky to have The Richmond
River Sun to showcase these people and promote their stories.
Community media is something that, I think, needs to be supported and encouraged.

Don't forget The Richmond River Sun is also a community notice board,
a place to let others know what's coming up and how they can  be a
part of it. Email me at kimcus@optusnet.com.au with the details and
we'll spread the word.

I'm looking forward to meeting contributors, readers and businesses
involved in this great paper. Hopefully by all working together we can
make a difference and be entertained and educated along the way.
